Dutch engineering consultancy Enersea has been hired as owners engineer at the 370MW Norther offshore wind farm off the coast of Belgium.
The work includes a review of the design reports and drawings of the turbine and offshore substation foundations.
Enersea is also analysing the installation and transport of the substation’s high voltage equipment.
The consultancy is also providing advice on technical issues to contractors involved in the project.
Norther will consist of 44 8.4MW MHI Vestas V164 turbines and is being developed by a joint venture of Eneco, Mitsubishi Corp subsidiary Diamond Generation Europe and Belgium energy company Elicio.
It is scheduled for commissioning in 2019.
