France’s highest administrative court has dismissed the first of two appeals against EDF’s 480MW Saint-Nazaire wind farm.
The verdict confirmed the quality of environmental studies and the project’s permitting dossier, the developer said.
A decision by the State Council on a second legal objection is still pending.
EDF and partner Enbridge are expected to reach financial close and sign supplier contracts once the project is fully cleared.
Saint-Nazaire is scheduled to be up and running by 2023 and is due to feature GE 6MW turbines (pictured). It is located 12km off Brittany in waters up to 15 metres deep.
