EDF Energies Nouvelles subsidiary Reetec has acquired German operations and maintenance (O&M) specialist Offshore Wind Solutions.
The acquisition will increase staff at Reetec by 188 to more than 350 O&M specialists. The deal was first reported exclusively in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
Offshore Wind Solutions also has an operations control centre for offshore wind in Emden.
The acquisition also coincides with the renewal of Offshore Wind Solutions’ O&M contract at Ocean Breeze Energy’s 400MW Bard Offshore 1 wind farm in the German North Sea.
EDF Group senior executive vice president renewable energy Antoine Cahuzac said: “We are delighted to welcome the (Offshore Wind Solutions) staff who will share its unique experience of the O&M activity in the offshore wind sector with EDF Energies Nouvelles.”
