Dong Energy has tagged Esvagt to provide service operations vessel support during the construction of its 1.2GW Hornsea 1 wind farm off the Yorkshire coast.
Esvagt Castor (pictured) will work as standby and man overboard rescue vessel at the North Sea site.
Head of commercial Ib Hansen said: “Activity levels in the offshore wind farm are expected to be high in the years to come while the wind farm is being established.
“We were chosen because of our ability to launch fast rescue boats and rescue people in all weather conditions. The safety that we can guarantee was the deciding factor.”
SOV Esvagt Njord is currently assigned to the 402MW Dudgeon wind farm off Norfolk, eastern England, due for commissioning by the end of the year.
