Ideol has completed assembly of the Floatgen floating wind turbine and plans to ship it to the project site 20km off the French Atlantic coast in the coming days.
An inauguration event will be held today in the port of Saint-Nazaire, before the floating foundation and Vestas V80 2MW turbine sets sail for the SEM-REV experimental test site off Le Croisic.
The machine is expected to be up and running by the end of the year.
