Fugro and International Ocean Vessel Technical Consultant (IOVTEC) are to deploy a floating lidar buoy off the coast of Taiwan as part of a new partnership deal.
The Dutch subsea specialists have signed a memorandum of understanding with the local surveying outfit and the pair will cooperate on marine survey projects in waters surrounding the Asian island.
The lidar will be installed in January to collect wind data.
Fugro director for marine site characterisation Jerry Paisley said: “Fugro’s offshore wind experience around the world and IOVTEC’s local skills make for an ideal partnership in Taiwan’s rapidly developing offshore wind sector.”
