Jan De Nul jack-up Vole au Vent has completed turbine installation at EDF Energy Renewables 41.5MW Blyth offshore wind demo project, 6km off the Northumberland coast.
The fifth and final MHI Vestas 8.3MW turbine was lifted into place on Thursday, the company said.
The project’s gravity base foundations were installed in August using a ‘float and submerge’ technique for the first time.
VBMS completed installation of the projects 11km of Nexan’s-made 66kv cables earlier this month.
First power from the project is expected later this year.
