Innovate UK has awarded funding to a project led by Perceptual Robotics that aims to develop technologies for the autonomous inspection of offshore wind farms.
Perceptual Robotics is partnering with ASV, the University of Bristol and VulcanUAV to build on its existing onshore inspection system.
The company will is integrating its aerial system with upgrades from VulcanUAV, the computer vision lab of the University of Bristol and an autonomous surface boat provided by ASV.
The system aims to deploy and recover a drone without the need for human interaction in the offshore environment.
Perceptual Robotics did not disclose the amount of funding from Innovate UK.
