A Bladt Industries-led taskforce will deliver its findings on a new cost model for jacket foundations in early 2018.
The jacket taskforce, which was set up in 2016, consists of 25 companies looking at new ways to lower the costs of jacket foundations.
One of the taskforce’s working groups is working on a new cost-model for a standard jacket foundation that can “render a more transparent picture as to the distribution of costs”.
The model is based on an EU-funded innovation project called InnWind.Eu. It models a four-legged, x-braced jacket structure supporting the 10MW InnWind turbine at a depth of 50 metres, the taskforce said.
“With the model at hand, it will be possible to benchmark cost benefits on individual parts of the jacket foundation and thereby identify which areas have the largest LCOE reduction potential,” it added.
