K2 Management has signed a lump-sum service agreement with Northland Power for work on the 252MW DeBu offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.The agreement includes full scope construction management on the €1.2bn project, which K2 Management has been working on the since 2013 providing engineering and development services.The new contract covers pre-construction through to commercial operations, which is expected by the end of 2019. K2 will manage technical aspects of the project, health and safety and quality and provide construction monitoring.It will also manage integration, time and cost, contracts and risk and provide procurement and technical advice.Northland Power executive vice president of construction Morten Melin said: “Northland Power has selected K2 Management for this role as a result of their extensive track-record, and their significant contribution to bringing the project to financial close.”The project will feature 31 MHI Vestas V164-8.0MW turbines, with construction scheduled to start next year.Image: MHI Vestas
