EMS Maritime Offshore has been contracted to build and operate a service base in Eemshaven in the Netherlands for the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The company will construct a 600-metre square warehouse and 500 square metres of offices, as well as carry out terminal logistics.
GE Renewable Germany will use the site to supply and install turbines and carry out operations and maintenance for the wind farm.
Merkur will consist of 66 GE Haliade 150 6MW turbines that are slated for commissioning in 2019.
