MHI Vestas has confirmed a contract to supply 31 V164-8.0MW turbines to Northland Power for the 252MW DeBu wind farm in the German North Sea.
The contract includes a long-term full scope service package, MHI Vestas said.
Chief executive Jens Tommerup said the order “affirms” the turbine as a “very competitive” machine for the German market “where distance from the coast and deeper waters demands a larger and more powerful machine”.
The turbine manufacturer also said the deal underlines the “market’s continued confidence” in the machine.
“We very much look forward to our partnership with Northland in providing clean energy to Germany,” added Tommerup.
Northland has confirmed financial close for the wind farm that is to enter construction next year.
