Modern Energy Management (MEM) is to provide project management services during construction of the 144MW Tra Vinh wind farm off southern Vietnam.
The Thai outfit will supply a dedicated project manager to coordinate development of the 48MW first phase of the project off the coast of the Duyen Hai district.
Phase one will feature 24 turbines and is slated to come online in February 2018. The 96MW Tra Vinh 2 project was given the green light last year.
MEM director Lars Lund: “To date, investors have struggled to overcome the relatively low feed-in tariffs and high costs of capital (in Vietnam).
“At Tra Vinh, Modern Energy Management supplied a dedicated project manager who will oversee the initial development, ensuring the project matures as planned enabling bankability.”
