Danish engineering consultancy Niras has been selected to develop a decommissioning plan for two offshore wind farms in France under development by Engie.
The Danes will develop the plan for the 500MW Tréport and 500MW Noirmoutier wind farms, before a final investment decision has been made on the projects.
Engie is partnered by EDP Renewables and La Caisse des Dépôts on the projects.
Niras has previously worked for the group on de-risking phase of future dismantling.
Niras project manager Johan Finsteen Gjødvad said: “We have now been chosen to assist in making intelligent design of the future dismantling already in this very early planning phase.”
