Norway’s Inocean AS has acquired the outstanding shares in its joint venture with Swiss group ABB for an undisclosed sum, expanding its involvement in the offshore wind sector.
The ABB Inocean AB engineering venture, formed in 2012, will now be called Inocean AB.
Inocean was the minority partner in the venture, which offered project management and operational services related to high-voltage direct current, or HVDC, platforms used to transmit wind power to onshore grids.
The venture has worked on projects including Dolwin Alpha (pictured), DolWin 2 and Borwin Alpha, all off the coast of Germany.
