Danish developer Orsted has set up a qualification system for companies providing geophysical surveys in the offshore wind sector to improve efficiency and reduce costs of sourcing services.
Orsted would use the list of qualified companies as a means for calling for competition for tenders.
Companies may apply at any time to be included in the system and are required to complete a qualification procedure.
Orsted noted that qualification does not guarantee award of a contract and some invitations for tender may require qualified companies to make a separate and specific bid.
