Osbit has completed the gangway for Seajacks jack-up Scylla that will support the vessel’s work at Dong Energy’s 659MW Walney 3 offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.
Extending up to 35m, the telescopic, variable height gangway (pictured) provides access from the vessel to turbines.
The gangway has a wider than usual operational height capability of between -45 and +15 degrees to account for the vessel’s height.
Walney 3, which will feature 40 MHI Vestas V164 8MW turbines and 47 Siemens Gamesa SWP-7.0-154 machines, is scheduled to be fully commissioned by late 2018.
