SeaRoc Group’s SeaPlanner system has been selected to support construction of the 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm off the UK’s south coast.
SeaRoc said the system will provide the vessel and traffic management system, operating out of the marine coordination centre in Newhaven.
SeaPlanner will track coverage for the offshore site, the export cable route, construction base, and all vessels and teams at work in those locations, the company said.
The system will deploy, real-time, tracking of vessels and personnel within the development sites, surrounding areas and between the site and operational bases.
SeaPlanner will also be responsible for the provision and installation of all equipment for the marine coordination centre, SeaRoc said.
“It is critical for the construction team to have constant and reliable access to personnel and vessel data throughout operations offshore,” said SeaPlanner’s Dominic Stratton.
The Rampion project is being built by Eon, the Green Investment Bank and Canadian Energy Company Enbridge.
