Developer Suomen Hyötytuuli’s 42MW Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm located off the coast of Finland is expected to be operational in September.
Jan De Nul jack-up Vole au Vent installed the last of 10 Siemens Gamesa 4.2MW turbines earlier this week at the project, which will be the first offshore wind farm designed for icy conditions.
The vessel will soon demobilise before starting preparations for its next job, installation of five MHI Vestas V164 machines at EDF’s 41.4MW Blyth offshore wind demonstration project off the UK’s northeast coast.
Jan De Nul offshore renewables manager Peter De Pooter said: “The installation team did a fantastic safe and efficient job. We installed all 10 4.2 MW turbines within the contractual time frame.”
