TenneT and the Blauwwind consortium have signed a grid connection agreement for the 740MW Borssele 3&4 offshore wind farm off the coast of the Netherlands.
The consortium comprises Shell, Eneco, Mitsubishi Corp subsidiary Diamond Generating Europe and Van Oord.
The agreement relates to the “realisation, connection and transmission” of electricity from the wind farm, TenneT said.
The connection will be backed by two 700MW platforms, which will start operating in 2019 and 2020, it added.
TenneT senior manager offshore Netherlands Marco Kuijpers said: “By signing these agreements we formalise the connection of the second offshore wind farm to the Dutch grid.
“As the contract for delivery of the platform Borssele Beta recently has been signed too, this timing is ideal for the efficient execution and fruitful cooperation of our Borssele projects.”
