Van Oord has wrapped up the installation 87 turbine foundations at Dong Energy’s 659MW Walney 3 offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.
The Dutch contractor said its installation vessels Aeolus (pictured) and Svanen took four-and-a-half months to complete the job.
Walney 3 will feature 40 MHI Vestas V164 8MW turbines and 47 Siemens Gamesa SWP-7.0-154 machines.
It is scheduled to be fully commissioned by late 2018.
