DNV GL has unveiled a new software tool aimed at optimising wind farm resource assessments.
The so-called WindFarmer solution calculates the potential energy yield of a wind farm project, DNV GL said.
The company added that WindFarmer has a new feature called “scripting”, which allows for a wind farm analysis to be “written and then updated at the click of a button”.
DNV GL said this reduces the chance for errors, allows for a more flexible approach and offers more scope for innovation.
DNV GL executive vice president northern Europe, Middle East and Africa Prajeev Rasiah said: “Understanding our customers was critical when building a software tool that optimally assists their working environment.
“The new tool places the user at the centre of wind farm creation and energy assessment production.”
