Eon has brought online the 200MW Colbeck’s Corner wind farm in Amarillo in Texas.
The project comprises 112 GE 1.79-100 turbines and will sell electricity to data centre provider Digital Reality.
The wind farm is the 20th that Eon has put into operation in the US and brings its total wind capacity in the country to 3GW.
Eon said the budget for Colbeck’s Corner is 40% below investments in the Pyron wind farm, built by the company in 2009.
