GE has reached 5GW of installed wind capacity in Brazil, representing about 33% of all wind energy in the country.
The milestone includes another 600MW to be commissioned by GE Onshore Wind by the end of September at three projects.
The Ventos Araripe 3 project in Chapada do Araripe will be equipped with 156 2.3-116/107 GE turbines.
The Caldeirão 1 wind farm, also in Chapada do Araripe, will have 70 2.7-122 GE turbines and the PEC Expansion project in Guaranhuns will feature 22 new units, bringing its total to 75.
GE general manager for onshore wind in Latin America Jean-Claude Robert said: “Brazil is an important market for GE Renewable Energy.
