The Masdar unit of Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Development Company has signed an EPC contract with GE and Spain’s TSK for the 50MW Dhofar project, the first large-scale wind farm in Oman.
GE will lead the development of the project, which comprises 13 turbines.
“Oman has immense untapped potential in renewable energy, particularly in solar and wind,” Masdar chief executive Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi said.
“The Dhofar project will play an important role in supporting the diversification of Oman’s energy mix, while providing a reliable source of clean power to serve its growing population and economy.”
