Project developer Nero Renewables is offering the Dutch government 1GW of Romanian onshore wind to help achieve 2020 European targets.
The company said it is “in the process of realising” three fully permitted wind farms in the central European country that could be “adopted” by the Netherlands.
The latter would tap into existing renewable energy regulations known as the “joint project mechanism”, said the developer.
Nero added: “The joint project mechanism can be implemented within the existing Dutch renewable support scheme called SDE+, avoiding complex and time consuming political procedures.”
