RES has been awarded the balance of plant contract for EDF Renewable Energy’s 80MW Copenhagen wind farm in New York.
Construction is due to kick off in August with full operations scheduled from November 2018. Vestas is supplying 40 V110 2MW turbines.
RES will also build a 9-mile 115kV transmission line to connect with a new substation on an existing National Grid network.
“Copenhagen will be RES’s first wind project constructed in the state of New York and we are pleased to be contributing to the economic benefits this project will provide to the community,” said the company.
Up to 120 jobs will be supported during peak construction.
