Siemens Gamesa has secured its debut order for wind turbines in Pakistan for a 50MW project in Gharo in the district of Thatta.
The deal, which is in consortium with Sumec Hardware and Tools, is for the supply of 25 G114-2.0MW machines to independent power producer Zephyr Power.
Installation is scheduled to start towards the end of this year, with commissioning slated for August 2018.
The delivery will include environmental kits designed to maximise turbine performance at high dust and temperatures sites, Siemens Gamesa said.
