Denmark’s Spica Technology and the UK’s FT Technologies have agreed to cooperate to supply wind sensors for ageing turbines.
Spica will develop electronics to allow FT’s wind sensors to be retrofitted to older turbines, without the need for a software overhaul.
Sensors can allow owners of older fleets to increase turbine availability and energy generation, due to improved wind speed and direction data, Spica said.
