The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved financing totalling €2.6bn for energy projects, including renewables.
The projects include wind farms in Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.
The EIB funds will also provide new support for equity investments in clean energy in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The money is part of overall funding of €9.2bn for infrastructure projects, announced by the bank today.
