A new company called Forsa Energy has been set up to develop renewables and natural gas projects combined with energy storage across Europe.
Forsa has been created by Velocita Energy Developments and 2020 Renewables.
It will start with a portfolio of 150MW of consented and 225MW of advanced development onshore wind and a fully-consented 400MW pumped storage scheme being developed in conjunction with joint venture partner Buccleuch.
Forsa said it has also boosted its team hiring experienced players in the gas generation sector and is “actively pursuing opportunities in the UK and across Europe”.
Forsa chief executive Alan Baker said: “At Forsa Energy, we offer a global approach – we have the ability to access global funds and have strong relationships with banks, suppliers and power offtakers.”
