Dutch network company Alliander has secured a €300m loan from the European Investment Bank to upgrade and expand the distribution network used by its subsidiary Liander.
Improvements to the grid will be made in the Dutch provinces of Gelderland and North Holland as well as Freisland, Flevoland and South Holland.
“These investments are necessary to enable the transition to a sustainable energy supply and ensure that the energy supply in the future will remain affordable, reliable and accessible,” said Alliander chief finance officer Mark van Lieshout.
