Voith Group has signed an agreement with China Three Gorges that includes the supply of two 350MW units for the Zhejiang Changlongshan pumped storage hydro power station in Zhejiang province.
The plant, which will have a total capacity of 2.1GW, will have a 710-metre high head, Voith said.
The two parties will also promote hydropower in the African market as part of the agreement.
They said they will work together to foster sustainable hydropower development, economic growth and social progress across the African continent.
