More than 200 organisations have so far registered to take part in a 400MW renewable energy auction in the Australian state of Queensland.
An expression of interest process to take part in the scheme will open on 31 August, the state Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment Curtis Pitt said.
The programme is also open to energy storage projects, Pitt added.
He said: “As part of the Renewables 400 process, and to support the accelerated deployment of this technology, the Queensland government is undertaking a specific process to secure up to 100MW of energy storage prior to 2020.
“Successful bidders will be awarded financial contracts with the government for some or all of the electricity they generate which will provide them with long-term certainty allowing them to secure the financing required to deliver their project.”
