Swedish wave developer Corpower has established an office in Kirkwall on the Orkney mainland ahead of deployment of a half-scale prototype at the European Marine Energy Centre.
The company’s new Scottish subsidiary, Corpower Ocean Ltd, will support the forthcoming installation of an around 25kW S3 point absorbed at EMEC’s nursery wave development site at Scapa Flow.
Corpower Ocean Ltd has taken on two employees: senior operations manager Robert Argo formerly of tidal developer Scotrenewables and senior operations engineer Mairi Dorward.”We are delighted to have our Scottish operations up and running, and to have attracted some top talent to our operations team,” said Corpower chief executive Patrik Moller.
“We are already seeing the immense value of working in the Scottish ocean energy ecosystem, with significant lessons learned from previous wave projects,” he added.
