A unit of China’s State Power Investment Corporation has started generating power at a planned 50MW solar PV plant (pictured) in Malaysia.
SPIC said the project’s first 2MW of capacity was fed into the local power grid on 10 August.
The remaining 48MW is still under construction.
The first large-scale solar project in Malaysia, SPIC’s development is located in Sabah, a mountainous and remote region on the northern tip of Borneo Island.
