The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has signed an agreement to co-finance the 50MW Baikonur solar park in Kazakhstan.
The project will be located in the Kyzylorda region, close to the Baikonur space centre.
EBRD has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kazakhstan government to help open the country’s renewable energy market to a wider range of investors.
The MoU was signed by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Kanat Bozumbayev and EBRD Kazakhstan head Agris Preimanis.
