Greenbacker Renewable Energy has acquired five solar plants in North Carolina with a combined capacity of 27.8MW for $20.5m.
The projects were sold by FTI Capital Advisors on the behalf of the current owner Conergy Projects.
The plants have been operating since 2015 and sell power to Duke Energy through a 15-year power purchase agreement, with approximately 13 years still remaining.
All of the systems qualify for renewable energy credits in North Carolina.
