Sempra Renewables has acquired the under-construction 281MW Great Valley solar project in California from Canadian Solar subsidiary Recurrent Energy.
The project, which was previously known as Tranquillity 8, is located in Fresno County and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of next year.
Sempra Renewables will take over construction of the project and will operate the facility, which is fully contracted under four independent power purchase agreements.
Canadian Solar chairman and chief executive Shawn Qu said: “We are pleased to work with a market-leading partner like Sempra Renewables on this transaction.”
