Revenue at Canadian Solar grew 39% to more than $912m in the third quarter of 2017, from over $657m in the same period last year.
The revenue was boosted by solar module shipments increasing to 1782MW in the quarter, up from 1161MW in 2016.
In total, the company’s revenue was up 4.5% to $2.28bn in the first nine months of 2017, from just over $2.18bn in the same period of 2016.
Canadian Solar chairman and chief executive Shawn Qu said: “This was a good quarter for us, as solar module shipments, revenue and gross margin all exceeded guidance mainly due to the better-than-expected demand in China.”
