Vroon Offshore Services officially dubbed their latest service operations vessel VOS Start at a naming ceremony at Damen Shiprepair in Amsterdam.
MHI Vestas has chartered the vessel starting in August for work on Dong Energy’s 660MW Walney 3 wind farm in the Irish Sea.
VOS Start will provide accommodation, support and walk-to-work services during installation of 40 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines at the project.
The Vessel is Vroon’s first subsea support walk-to-work vessel and has been equipped with a Barge Master motion-compensated gangway system and an active heave-compensated crane built by SMST.
