Aquila Capital has acquired the 25.2MW Kappel wind farm in Denmark from European Energy, pushing the German investor’s transaction volume in the wind sector past 1GW.
The project, located on the Danish island of Lolland, features seven Vestas V126 turbines.
It was completed by European Energy in March, in time to receive relatively generous feed-in support.
“Due to the conditions of the region, Northern Europe is very attractive for wind energy investments,” Aquila head of energy & infrastructure EMEA Susanne Wermter said.
“For the project on Lolland, we were also able to secure one of the last projects to receive a high feed-in premium.”
