Spanish outfit Euskalforging is to provide Sif Group with foundation flanges for the 370MW Norther offshore wind farm off the coast of Belgium.
The Spaniards will supply 135 flanges with an outer diameter above 6mm for the foundations and substation.
“Deliveries will be adjusted to meet customer’s manufacturing schedule,” Euskalforging said.
Sif Group has a contract to supply 44 monopile foundations for the wind turbines and another monopile for the substation.
It will also tackle the production of primary steel for transition pieces for the wind farm and Smulders Projects will outfit the kit.
Norther will consist of 44 8.4MW MHI Vestas V164 turbines and is being developed by a joint venture of Eneco, Mitsubishi Corp subsidiary Diamond Generation Europe and Belgium energy company Elicio.
The wind farm is scheduled for commissioning in 2019.
