Duke Energy is planning to build and operate three solar plants in the US state of Kentucky.
The Crittenden and Walton 1&2 projects, which will have a combined capacity of 6.8MW, will be located in Kenton and Grant counties.
Duke said it expects most of the construction to be complete by the end of the year.
The company said all of the electricity generated will be fed into Duke Energy Kentucky’s electric grid and delivered to homes, businesses, schools, places of worship and other customers in the area.
Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky president Jim Henning said: “Our customers want solar. And solar is something we’ve thoroughly studied and prioritized in our long-term planning.”
