Mainprize Offshore has taken delivery of the MO4 support vessel from Aluminium Marine Consultants ahead of deployment at the 111MW Nordergründe offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
MO4 has been contracted for eight years by Deutsche Windtechnik to carry cargo, equipment and personnel out of the port of Hooksiel to and from WPD’s wind farm.
The vessel, which has been designed for shallow water work, can carry up to 30,000 litres of fuel or 20,000 litres of water and has provision for 30 tonnes of deck cargo.
MO4 is fitted with twin Caterpillar C32 diesel engines driving fixed pitch propellers that give it a service speed of 26 knots, even when fully loaded.
