GeoSea vessel Innovation has installed the monopile foundation for the offshore substation at Otary’s 309MW Rentel wind farm off the coast of Belgium.
STX Europe Offshore Energy is EPCI contractor for the substation and its foundation and transition piece, which weigh 1050 tonnes 750 tonnes respectively.
The 1200-tonne topside is still under construction at STX’s yard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
It will be installed at the start of 2018, STX said.
