Queen Elizabeth II visited Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy’s blade manufacturing plant in Hull today.
Siemens Gamesa UK managing director Clark MacFarlane accompanied the Queen on a short tour of the Alexandra Dock facility, including viewing the moulds where the 75-metre blades are made.
She also met with staff, including apprentices, to talk about their work, and with Siemens Gamesa Global chief executive Markus Tacke.
The tour was concluded with the unveiling of a plaque to mark the Queen’s visit.
