Enel Green Power North America has started construction of the 150MW Lindahl wind farm in North Dakota.
The $220m wind project, which is owned by EGP subsidiary Lindahl Wind Project, is expected to start commercial operations by 2017.
The electricity generated and the renewable energy credits will be sold under a bundled, long-term power purchase agreement to Basin Electric Power Cooperative.
The project is Enel’s first wind farm in North Dakota.
Enel Green Power head of North America area Rafael Gonzalez said: “The new wind farm marks the Group’s entrance into a new state, North Dakota, further broadening our geographical footprint in the United States.”
