German developer Juwi has kicked off construction of the 16.5MW Höcherberg wind farm in Saarland in Germany.
The project, which is located in Neunkirchen county, will feature five Vestas V-126 3.3MW turbines.
Full commissioning of the wind farm is slated for the end of the year, the developer said.
Meanwhile, Juwi expects to have completed the first three towers at the 18MW Perl project in early October.
Nacelles and blades for the wind farm’s six Enercon E-115 turbines will arrive at the construction site in Merzig-Wadern county in Saarland in the coming weeks, Juwi said.
The first three turbines with a 149-metre hub height will be fully commissioned by the end of the year, followed by the remaining three machines next spring.
Both projects received BimSchG permits in late 2016 and will be supported by the country’s expiring feed-in tariff system.
