JUWI has sold the 25MW Gundersweiler 2 wind farm (pictured) in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.

Diehl Group acquired the project and was supported in the transaction by wpd invest GmbH as transaction adviser, the companies said.

JUWI said that the wind farm at Gundersweiler in the Donnersberg district, around 20 kilometres north of Kaiserslautern, is under construction and is expected to enter operation next summer.

The project comprises four Vestas V-162 wind turbines with a hub height of 169 metres, a rotor diameter of 162 metres and a nominal output of 6.2MW each.

“With this project, we have once again demonstrated our strong expertise in project development,” said JUWI chief executive Christian Arnold.

“The wind farm is also once again an expression of our leading market position in Rheinland-Pfalz.”

The four turbines are expected to feed nearly 70 million kWh of electricity into the grid each year.

The companies said the renewable electricity generated will cover the annual power demand of around 25,000 households and save more than 50,000 tonnes of CO2 compared with conventional power generation.

“We are very pleased about the successful cooperation with the JUWI Group,” said Diehl Metall Stiftung & Co. KG managing director Dr Markus Krog.

“With the acquisition of the wind farm, we are continuing our commitment to the expansion of renewable energies and creating a sustainable and financially attractive extension of our green self-generation portfolio.”
